From a CCC teacher: "Students are having a hard time transitioning from submicroscopic from CCC to molecular, atomic or particulate in the Chemistry in the Community textbook. In CCC, submicroscopic is used, not the other terms, so when I taught the units, I focused on saying it. I do use a word wall and have submicroscopic (particulate or molecular) on it, but me not verbally repeating the different words and the students not seeing the words in the CCC workbooks was the issue."
Does anyone have any other strategies for helping their students transition between CCC and other vocabulary?
